In celebration of Cook Islands Language Week we warmly invite you and your family to a special viewing of taunga (treasures) from Auckland Museum’s Cook Islands collection.
As part of the Pacific Collection Access Project, the project to bring these precious items out of storage for cataloguing and conservation work has been named and blessed as ‘Akairo a te Taunga’ or Marks of the Artist.
This is a great opportunity to not only meet Auckland Museum staff caring for our taunga but also to learn about what happens behind the scenes.
