Many of our youth face great risks in their lives.  Resilience is the ability to adapt, bounce back and grow in the face of life’s problems.  There is a growing body of research to inform us as organisations, communities and as human beings about ways we might help youth move from a position of risk to one of resilience.  This seminar will be useful to anyone working with youth who wants to learn about the most current research trends and how this can inform our own interactions with youth.

This seminar will address:

1.  An brief overview of the most current international trends in resilience research

2.  How to identify risk and protective factors to remain strengths-based

3.  How can we empower youth to increase their own resilience

4.  Some myths around resilience
