Going West Festival

Going West was the first literary festival to front poetry slamming – a genre previously at home in pubs and halls.

The annual Going West Festival Poetry Slam returns for another year in 2014, directed by Doug Poole and assisted by MC Zane Scarborough. Expect this year’s Poetry Slam to be clever, funny, heart-warming and confrontational.

It is a competition with generous prizes, but every brave soul who stands in front of a poetry slam audience is a winner.

First prize $1000, second prize $500, third prize $ 300.

Visit the Going West Festival website for further details of heats, entry conditions and the grand final night.
