Manu Aute Kite Day is hosted by Ngāti Whātua and Auckland Council at the stunning Ōrākei Marae.
Celebrate the tradition of Manu Aute – kite flying. Set against the stunning backdrop of Rangitoto and Waitematā Harbour. Ranginui will be alight with kites of all shapes and size. Attend the traditional morning pōwhiri.
Participate in weaving a traditional kite and enjoy the entertainment, and mana whenua share stories of Ōrākei Marae A great family fun day of free entertainment. In case of bad weather, all activities (except kite flying) will take place on Saturday, 18 July at Ōrākei Marae.
