Watangi Day 2015 Celebrations

Proudly presented by Auckland Council and Toi o Manukau, Waitangi Day Family Celebrations at Barry Curtis Park in Flat Bush has live performances by Tomorrow People, Annie Crummer, Moana and the Tribe, Tama Waipara and much more.
This is a free event for the entire family, to celebrate 175 years of partnership.

There will be a tamariki (kids’) zone and an interactive village with Auckland Museum, Auckland Libraries, craft and food stalls.

Tomorrow People lead a sensational line-up of New Zealand music talent for the 175th Waitangi Day celebrations on 6 February. Winners of the 2013 Tui Award for Best Pacific Group, the Wellington reggae band will be joined by fellow Tui Award winner Tama Waipara, winner of Best Roots album in 2014. Also featuring on stage alongside the bands, are internationally acclaimed Kiwi musicians Annie Crummer and Moana and the Tribe.

Community Development Arts and Culture Māori Programme Leader, Anahera Higgins says, “The Waitangi Day Family Celebrations celebrates 175 years of partnership and will provide a memorable experience for Auckland whanau, friends and visitors.”

The event starts at 10am with a mihi whakatau (ceremonial welcome) followed by live stage performances from 11am.

This event is alcohol-free, smoke-free and drug-free.
